Harrisburg police investigate bank robbery at Kline Village

Police say a robber demanded large bills from a clerk at a Harrisburg bank while making a sound that the clerk thought was the cocking of a gun.

No gun was displayed during the robbery Wednesday afternoon at the PNC Bank branch inside the Giant Food Store in Kline Village, but the teller surrendered an undisclosed amount of cash, according to city police.

The robber was described as a black male in his 40's, dark complexion, about 5'9″ tall. He was said to be wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with a yellow shirt underneath, gray sweat pants, and white sneakers.

He walked to a waiting dark green or black Buick Park Avenue. Police said the car had a temporary Pennsylvania plate at the left side of the rear window, a sticker in the center of the rear window, and damage to the right rear bumper.

Anyone with information is asked to call (717) 255-7299.
