There may finally be enough incentive for someone to come forward with information on the shooting death of a suburban Harrisburg woman.
Dauphin County and Swatara Township authorities announced Thursday that there is now a $12,000 reward for the tip leading to an arrest in Rezija Sabic's murder.
Sabic's husband is offering $10,000 in addition to a $2,000 reward from Dauphin County Crime Stoppers.
“Somebody close to the assailant has some information but doesn't want to come forward. Maybe it's a friend or family member who doesn't want to come forward for whatever reason,” Dauphin County District Attorney Ed Marsico said. “A substantial amount of money on the table might force somebody forward.”
Sabic, 39, died on the front porch of her home in the 500 block of Liberty Court in Chambers Hill the morning of July 28. Authorities said she had been shot twice in the back, apparently after surprising someone who was inside her garage.
Sources to abc27 News say Sabic's husband Senad has been ruled out as a suspect, but Marsico won't admit that.
“I'm not gonna comment on who's been ruled out who hasn't been ruled out,” he said. “Suffice it to say the investigation continues.”
Anyone with information should call police at (717) 564-2550 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 262-3080.
